Boys: Day 3 recap

Senior Mark Wilson led Liberty Christian with 19 points and senior Joey Lane added 10 as the Patriots beat Quilcene to advance to the fifth-place game.
Liberty Christian was in control most of the afternoon trailing only once early in the first quarter. The Patriots used a 12-3 run at the start of the fourth to widen their lead for good.
Quilcene, now eliminated, was led by senior Nate Burlingame who scored a team-high 15 points.
Rangers leading scorer Chris Bacchus, who came in averaging 20.5 points in his first two games, was held to just six.
The Patriots lived at the free-throw line, taking 32 and making 23, while Quilcene went just 3 of 6 from the stripe.

North Beach 59, Lind-Ritzville 49Three North Beach players scored in double figures and the Hyaks held off a few second-half rallies to hold on and beat the Broncos.
Senior Cory Whitmore had a game-high 18 points for Lind-Ritzville and junior Jamie Stevenson scored 12 of his 15 in the second half.
Stevenson pulled the Broncos within one, 31-30, midway through the third quarter but the Broncos could never get over the hump.
North Beach, making its first state appearance in 11 years, will leave with a trophy for only the second time.

Adna 47, Pe Ell 46Adna leading scorer Jeremy White saved the theatrics for the final minute as he hit a 3-pointer and two free throws to help the Pirates come from behind to beat league rival Pe Ell.
The Pirates face Napavine today at 1:45 p.m. for fourth and seventh place.
Trailing 44-40 with 45 seconds remaining, White hit a 3-pointer to cut the lead to one.
After Pe Ell's Hank Robinson tripped on an inbounds play with 30 seconds remaining, White came up with the ball, was fouled and knocked down both free throws for the lead.
After another Pe Ell turnover, Adna knocked down two more free throws to seal the win. The Trojans missed a desperation 3-pointer, but put in the rebound to account for the final margin.

Napavine 54, La Conner 31Blake Anthony, coming off a tough nine-point performance, led the Tigers with 18 points and six rebounds to help Napavine advance to the fourth-place game.
The Tigers face Adna today at 1:45 p.m. for fourth and seventh place.
Napavine dominated the boards outrebounding La Conner 42-21. After an early 5-5 tie, the Tigers led the rest of the way.
La Conner juniors Erik Lindeman and Brandon Willey, two of the Braves' top scorers throughout the season, couldn't find their shots and combined to go 3 for 15 from the field.
Both teams struggled from the free-throw line combining to shoot only 21 of 41 from the stripe.

Davenport 57, White Swan 50Taylor Morgan dominated the low post with 22 points and 13 rebounds to help the Gorillas knock off the Cougars in the night's first semifinal.
White Swan, down by 12 at the end of three quarters, cut the Gorillas' lead to three late but ran out of time in the end.
Davenport used its huge size advantage down low as 6-foot-9 Morgan Scharff made his presence felt with five blocks in the game. Scharff added 10 points and Jarod Gunning was the only other Davenport player in double figures with 14.
Drew Blodgett, who hit three big 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, finished with 19 points to lead the Cougars.
Davenport advances to the state final against Northwest Christian tonight at 8. White Swan will play in the third-place game today against Garfield-Palouse at 3:30 p.m.

NW Christian 59, Gar-Pal 46 (OT)Senior Matt Zandbergen came up big in overtime by scoring eight of his team-high 18 and pulling down 16 rebounds as Northwest Christian used everything it had left to escape with the overtime win.
As the final 10 seconds in regulation ticked away, Garfield-Palouse turned to its senior leader Tyson Palmer, who drove the lane and missed the first try but put back the second attempt as time expired to send the wild semifinal game into overtime.
It was all Northwest Christian in overtime though as it scored all 13 points in the extra session. Senior Chase Ramey, who didn't shoot well all game, scored five of his 14 in OT.
The Crusaders had a big size advantage down low that worked to their advantage as they got to the line early and often. They took 40 free throws to the Vikings' 15, making 30.
Northwest Christian controlled the game early limiting the Vikings to only three first-quarter points but Garfield-Palouse quickly got back in the game and outscored the Crusaders by seven in the second quarter.

Garfield-Palouse's Tyson Palmer scored on a putback layup as time expired to tie the game 46-46 and send its semifinal against Northwest Christian into overtime.
