Boys: Liberty Chr. 72, Summit 51
Highlights: Senior Derek Stratton scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Liberty Christian past Summit, 72-51, on Thursday in the consolation bracket at the State 2B boys basketball tournament at the Arena.
The Patriots (21-4) pushed their lead into double digits midway through the first quarter, and after that they never led by fewer than 12 points. Mark Wilson added 17 points for Liberty Christian, which grabbed 22 offensive rebounds and dominated the boards overall, 52-23.
Senior Kesean Prince sank 8 of 11 shots and led the Invaders with 19 points. He also grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists, both team-highs. The defeat spelled elimination for Summit (13-15).
Liberty Christian will play Quilcene (20-7) on Friday.
