Boys: White Swan 63, Oroville 59 (2OT)
Highlights: Drew Blodgett scored 25 points and played all but one minute of White Swan’s 63-59 victory over Oroville on Wednesday in the first round of the State 2B boys basketball tournament at the Spokane Arena.
Blodgett, a senior, hit 6 of 11 3-point attempts for the Cougars (20-2), who will face either Quilcene or Pe Ell in the second round on Thursday.
White Swan erased an eight-point deficit entering the fourth quarter and played most of the extra time without leading scorer Guy Sanchey, who fouled out with 3:31 left in the first overtime. He had 14 points and eight rebounds.
It also withstood the Oroville trio of Marcus Kinman, Brandon Funston and Luke Rowton, who scored a combined 45 points and shot 18 of 36 from the field. Kinman and Rowton, both seniors, played the entire 40 minutes.
Oroville (15-8) will face Quilcene or Pe Ell in the consolation bracket on Thursday morning.
