Boys: Garfield-Palouse 72, White Swan 50
Highlights: Four players scored in double figures for Garfield-Palouse as the Vikings ran away from White Swan and earned a third-place trophy.
Jordan Palmer and Gavin Burt led the way with 16 points and four rebounds apiece. Brock Slocum had 14 and Tyson Palmer added 10 and six rebounds for a Gar-Pal team that shot 50 percent from the field.
The Vikings exploded for 23 points in the second quarter, going 7 of 13 from beyond the arc and led by 15 at the break.
The Cougars threatened in the third, going on a scoring run that culminated in a fast break where Drew Blodgett picked off a pass and took it the length of the floor before flipping a pass behind his back to Cory Williams for a bucket that cut the lead to 8. Williams finished with 14 points and 8 rebounds.
On Gar-Pal's next possession, White Swan forced another turnover but couldn't secure the ball, which bounced into the hands of Michael Jacobs who scored two of his nine points. Slocum hit a 3 on the next possession, followed by a White Pass airball and another Jacobs' score that ended White Swan's last real threatening push.
Gar-Pal then went on a 15-3 scoring run in the fourth that broke the game wide open.
