Boys: Liberty Chr. 59, North Beach 54

Highlights: Liberty Christian (22-4) scored six unanswered points with less than a minute left to put away North Beach (19-9) in the fifth-place trophy game.

The Hyaks led 53-52 with just over a minute remaining, when Derek Stratton found James Davis cutting inside with an inbounds pass to give the Patriots a one-point lead with 50 seconds left. North Beach's Jamaal Lind then got stripped on a baseline drive which resulted in a Joey Lane transition score. Davis then hit two free throws after getting fouled grabbing a North Beach miss, putting the game out of reach with 10 seconds left.

Liberty Christian led by as many as 9 in the first half, before North Beach fought back to cause nine lead changes and two ties, primarily in the second half.

Mark Wilson had 25 points and 12 rebounds for the Patriots, shooting 8 of 10 from the field and 7 of 9 from the line. Stratton added 16 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Liberty Christian shot 46 percent for the game, which helped compensate for their turning the ball over 22 times, 11 more than North Beach.

Russell Alfaro had 16 points for the Hyaks, and Lind added 13 while Derek Frigaard Moore had 10. Lind shot just 4 of 12, and Moore was 3 of 9, for a Hyak team that shot 37 percent.
