Boys: Lind-Ritzville 38, Entiat 34

Highlights: Lind-Ritzville exploited Entiat’s 9-minute scoring drought and advanced into the consolation semifinals with a 38-34 win on Thursday at the State 2B boys tournament at the Spokane Arena.
Entiat’s Luis Perez hit a 3-pointer early in the second quarter to put his team up 18-11. But the Tigers didn’t score again until 3 minutes into the third quarter, and by then the Broncos had doubled their total. Lind-Ritzville never trailed again and led by as many as six.
Senior Cory Whitmore scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Broncos, who won despite shooting 27.7 percent from the field. Whitmore also blocked an Entiat shot with 30 seconds left to help clinch the victory.
Junior center Dylan Crawley led Entiat with 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. The loss ended the Tigers’ season at 16-8 overall.
Lind-Ritzville (17-12) will face North Beach (19-8) on Friday.
