Boys: Quilcene 47, Oroville 45

Highlights: Senior Chris Bacchus drained a jumper from the free-throw line as the buzzer sounded to give Quilcene a 47-45 victory over Oroville on Thursday in the State 2B boys basketball consolation bracket.
Oroville missed a pair of free throws with 15.1 seconds left that would have given the Hornets a lead. Bacchus finished with a game-high 19 points for Quilcene (20-7), which won at State 2B for the first time in eight tries. It faces Liberty Christian (21-4) on Friday.
Junior Brandon Funston and senior Cody Mills led Oroville with 11 points apiece.
The two teams swapped the lead nine times and were tied on 10 different scores.
For the second straight game, the Rangers’ fate was decided in the final 5 seconds. In the first round, Daniel Duncan hit a 3-pointer for Pe Ell with 4.8 seconds left, handing the Rangers a 47-44 loss.
Oroville (15-9), now eliminated, lost a double-overtime game in the first round to White Swan, 63-59.
