Girls: La Salle 69, White Pass 47

Highlights: Savannah Bonny opened the second half by stealing an inbounds pass at mid-court and scoring an uncontested layup, which is how the day went.

Bonny scored 23 points to lead the defending state champions to a comfortable win over White Pass in the game for third place. It was the fourth consecutive top-three finish for the Lightning, who won the title in 2006.

Mikel Elliott had 14 points for the Panthers, who picked up their fifth-straight state trophy. They were also sixth last year and seventh the year before. The other two came in 1A, placing third in 2006 and fourth in 2005.

The Lightning used two surges to get some separation in the second quarter. They opened with a 12-2 run for a 27-15 lead. After a 5-minute drought that allowed the Panthers to close within four, they finished the half with six quick points. They quickly pushed the margin to 15 in the third quarter and were never threatened.

White Pass had 31 turnovers that the Lightning converted into 27 points. The Panthers only shot 25 percent in the second half and 15 of 49 for the game, hitting just 1 of 12 3s. Jet'aime Mullins had 14 rebonds for White Pass.
