Tac. Baptist 55, NWC (Colbert) 42

Sophomore Melanie Shank scored eight of her team-leading 20 points in the final 5:25 to help Tacoma Baptist prevail in a loser-out battle of Crusaders at the Arena.

Leading by seven after three quarters, freshman Hayley Hendricksen and sophomore Taryn Russell powered Northwest Christian to within 38-36 with 51/2 minutes remaining.

But Shank and senior Olivia Wilson helped the Crusaders stave off elimination in the clutch. Wilson pitched in five points during the final 5 minutes, including a rebound and putback shot to extend Tacoma Baptist's lead to 44-36.

Both teams reached the bonus midway through the final frame. Northwest Christian converted 12 of 16 free throws (5 of 7 in the last 5 minutes) and Tacoma Baptist hit 7 of 17 for the game.

Pomeroy, led by senior Jordan Beales' 11 fourth-quarter points, came from behind to beat the Eagles in a loser-out game.

The Tigers fell into a 48-42 hole with 4:52 left. Taelor Braun recorded 15 points for the Tigers before fouling out with 3:23 left in the fourth. But the Eagles missed shots down the stretch and Pomeroy converted 3 of 6 free throws in the final minute and a half to eliminate the Eagles.

Beale and Michelle FitzGerald had eight rebounds each for the Tigers. Daniels grabbed seven boards for the Eagles.

The game featured seven ties and nine lead changes. Pomeroy's biggest lead was eight points (18-10) and the Eagles led by as many as six (48-42).

Angela DeKoekkoek and Angela Woods combined for 22 first-half points as the Crusaders cruised by Seattle Lutheran.

The Crusaders finished with a 45 percent clip from the field. DeKoekkoek finished with 14 points and five rebounds. Woods earned a double-double with a game-high 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Seattle Lutheran had balanced scoring and shot 4 of 7 from 3-point range. Camille Depew was 2 of 5 on 3-pointers and Stephanie Antioquia and Maddy Williams were 1 of 1 each.

The Braves held off a late charge by Liberty and senior Sabrina Schwindler scored six of her game-high 15 points in the pivotal final quarter.

Ahead by 10 points at the start of the fourth quarter, the Braves lead dwindled to four points during two separate stretches. Junior Heather Kjack cut the lead to 28-24 on an inside basket with 6:11 remaining. Later in the quarter, fellow junior Katy Collins nailed a shot with 1:56 left to make the score 34-30.

Liberty, a team with only one senior, fought hard after falling behind by as many as 14 points, but their desperation shots wouldn't fall. Kelsey Kennedy drained two free throws for the Braves with 14.1 seconds left to provide the final margin.

Cora Kellerman ripped down 20 rebounds for the Braves.

Jasmine Stohr made sure her presence was felt early and often in LaSalle's quarterfinal game against the Warriors.

Stohr scored 10 of her team-high 15 points in the first five minutes of the game in LaSalle's rout of King's West.

The Lightning dominated in the second quarter, outscoring the Warriors 24-5 to take a 38-11 halftime lead.

King's West committed 30 turnovers and had problems bringing the ball up court against LaSalle's full-court press.

Megan Spence had a game-high 18 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Warriors.

Courtney May scored 24 points on 10-of-19 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Tigers to the quarterfinal victory over the Lions.

Napavine took control early, outscoring Liberty Bell 10-4 in the first quarter and taking a 21-16 halftime lead.

The Lions shot just 4 of 27 from the floor in the first half.

The Tigers' bench outscored the Lions' 14-6 and Napavine held a 41-30 advantage in rebounds.

Korrie Bourn had eight points and pulled down six rebounds to lead Liberty Bell.

Hannah Pomeroy scored just two points, but they were the most important two points of the game.

Pomeroy made a short jumper with 3.3 seconds remaining to break a tie and give the Vikings a quarterfinal win over the Broncos.

The Vikings trailed 9-4 after the first quarter but outscored Lind-Ritzville 14-8 in the second to take an 18-17 halftime lead.

The St. George’s girls had no answer for White Pass’ Breanna Moody.

Moody scored a game-high 30 points on 13-of-28 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Cougars past the Dragons.

Moody hit two jump-shots and a 3-pointer just 1 minute, 15 seconds into the game to give White Pass an early 7-0 lead. She finished with 13 points in the quarter and the Cougars led 19-8.

St. George’s outscored White Pass 13-9 in the second quarter to cut the lead to nine, 28-21, at halftime.

Chessey Thomas had 12 points to lead the Dragons.
