Girls: Mossyrock 51, Shoreline Chr. 41

Highlights: Mossyrock held off a pesky Shoreline Christian team 51-41 in the final game of first-round action at Spokane Arena.

Corissa Beairsto led Mossyrock with 14 points and eight rebounds. Sarah Petrino also contributed 12 points for the Vikings. Shoreline Christian was led by Ann Barrick with 12 points.

The Vikings led 20-19 at the half and 30-28 at the end of the third frame. Barrick had six points in the first half for Shoreline Christian and Petrino had seven first-half points for Mossyrock.

Angela DeKoekkoek had 12 rebounds for Shoreline Christian and Elena Belcher grabbed 12 boards for Mossyrock.

Mossyrock advances to play Lind-Ritzville at 9 p.m. tomorrow in the winners’ bracket; Shoreline Christian faces Seattle Lutheran in a matchup of Seattle-area squads at 2 p.m. in the losers’ bracket.
