Boys: Toutle Lake 65, Life Chr. Academy 41
Highlights: Toutle Lake controlled the whole game, leading from the tip off until the final buzzer, as they defeated Life Christian Academy in the first round of the state 2B tournament 65-41 Wednesday night at the Arena.
The Ducks began the game with a 12-4 first quarter lead and never looked back leading by 23 at the half.
Toutle Lake was led by senior Brandon Hoff who scored a game high 17 points on 5-7 shooting from the field and 6-9 from the free throw line. Two other Ducks also scored in double figures with 13, seniors Luke Lindquist and Brandon Bartlett.
The Eagles began slow and didn't get kick started until it was too late. They had 14 first half points and trailed by as much as 27 points in the second half.
Life Christian Academy did get a major contribution from sophomore Dominick Samuels who had a team high 13 points and five rebounds. Senior Mike Courlarte also chipped in 9 points and four rebounds.
Toutle Lake will play in the winner’s bracket tomorrow night against Wahkiakum at 9 p.m. Life Christian Academy will get St. George’s in the loser’s bracket in the afternoon game at 2 p.m.
