Boys: Northwest Chr. (Colbert) 42, Toutle Lake 41

Highlights: Crusader senior John Graham hit a go-ahead lay up with six seconds left and junior Matt Zandbergen blocked the final shot attempt by the Ducks as Northwest Christian capped off their third consecutive state championship.

With 13 seconds remaining in the game, Duck senior Luke Lindquist stepped up to the line for a one-and-one attempt leading by one. His first attempt missed and Zandbergen grabbed the rebound outletting the ball to teammate junior Chase Ramey. Ramey then looked ahead and got the ball to Graham for the winning basket.

Toutle Lake (26-1) who came into the game undefeated on the season started well with a 7-point first quarter lead but just couldn’t put the Crusaders away. The Ducks outrebounded the Crusaders 25 to 22, nine on the offensive end, but couldn’t convert them into points, only five second-chance points in the game.

The Crusaders (25-1), who shot 50 percent for the game, were led by their big man in the middle Zandbergen who had 17 points and six rebounds.

Senior Brandon Bartlett led the Ducks with a game-high 18 points, 14 of which came in the first half.
