What State should be

I haven't seen this much support for two teams yet in this tournament. There's a packed house for the semifinal between White Swan and Davenport.

To make it better both teams are the same color so it's just a sea of red and white.

Both teams have bands and it's exciting to hear all the cheering for a state tournament game. All games at the Arena should have an atmosphere like this.

Yeah, White Swan as small as it is stands behind their sporting events, especially the basketball games.
Its only to bad the refs werent competent enough to keep it clean and call the sames calls on both sides of the court. Its to bad when a former ref can see the mistakes and make comments and to bad the refs tell the coaches to shut up and sit down. From my understand the refs are not to be talking to or listening to the crowds but pay attention to the game. Not true with these refs at the state playoffs.

Last year we got to play in the State Tournament in our "backyard". We competed and placed in the State A tournnament in Yakima, WA. This year travelling to Spokane was a new experience for a majority of our players, coaches and fans. We placed sixth in the State 2B tournament. My question is how do the teams go about getting local sponsors? I don't mean sponsors for monetary purposes but in emotional and public support. Nobody sat courtside at our games in the chairs normally taken by local sponsorship. In Yakima, we had wonderful, warm and supportive local businesses that stepped up and embraced our players and coaches and helped make the whole State experience memorable. They came to all our games and took their special seat courtside and cheered for our team as if they were our number one fans and for those four days I suppose, they were. As a parent of a player, I didn't feel that our team was included or made to feel welcome by local sponsorship. Where there no local sponsors? I did however receive numerous compliments from spectators and parents from other boys teams on the Cougars fine sportsmanship and dignity and great attitudes. To them, I say thank you.
