Third time not a charm for Trojans

Adna leading scorer Jeremy White saved the theatrics for the final minute as he hit a 3-pointer and two free throws to help the Pirates come from behind to beat league rival Pe Ell 47-46.
Trailing 44-40 with 45 seconds remaining White hit a 3-pointer to cut the lead to one.
After Pe Ell’s (17-10) Hank Robinson tripped on an inbound play with 30 seconds remaining, White came up with the ball, was fouled and knocked down both free throws for the lead.
After another Pe Ell turnover, Adna (20-8) knocked down two more free throws. A Trojan desperation 3-pointer missed and a put back layup was good, but the Pirates didn’t care. They ran onto the court in jubilation.
With the win Adna clinches a third trophy in their first trip to state since 1995.
Adna will play in the fourth- and seventh-place game tomorrow at 1:45 p.m. against the winner Napavine.
