Reardan 51, North Beach 31

Jen Christerson recorded a double-double and Reardan used timely 3-point shooting and a stifling defense to beat North Beach 51-31 in the opening game of the tournament.

Christerson made 3 of 6 3-pointers and led the Indians with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Teammate Mandy Peone hit 3 of 5 from long range and finished with 11 points. The Indians (19-9), the No. 2 seed out of the Bi-County League, were good on 6 of 13 3-pointers and held the Hyaks to just 11 field goals in 44 attempts.

The Hyaks stuck with the Indians in the first period, but were outscored 20-7 in the second quarter to fall behind 28-16 at the half. The drought continued in the third quarter as North Beach went scoreless.

The game marked Reardan's first state appearance since 1997. The Indians, 38-19 in 16 state appearances, have won three state titles. The Hyaks (19-7) are making their first state appearance since 2001, when current assistant coach Wendy Hensley was a North Beach player.

Seniors Rachel Hansen, Jessica Ide and Erika Laete combined for 42 of Evergreen Lutheran's 50 points to lead the Eagles past Toutle Lake.

Hansen and Laete each posted double-doubles, with Laete scoring 16 points and Hansen 15 and each pulling down 12 rebounds apiece. Ide added 11 points and seven rebounds.

Toutle Lake was led by senior guard Lindsey Scheffler with 16 points.

La Salle opened the game on a 28-4 run and cruised to an easy win over DeSales.

Junior Jasmine Stohr tallied a game-high 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting and pulled down six rebounds to lead the Lightning.

La Salle dominated the first half, outscoring the Irish 42-13.

Senior Molly McGree added 12 points for the Lightning (21-2), who shot 69.6 percent from the floor in the first half.

Senior Hailee Cole paced DeSales (23-2) with a team-high 12 points.

Napavine looked right at home in topping Bear Creek.

Junior Courtney May tallied a team-high 14 points and senior Alicia Richardson added nine points and seven rebounds for Napavine (23-0).

Bench scoring played a big part. The Tigers' reserves scored 17 points while nobody scored off the bench for the Grizzlies.

Junior Kimi Pohlman tallied a game-high 16 points and 12 rebounds for Bear Creek School (16-10).

Junior Breanna Moody led all players with 22 points and 13 rebounds as White Pass topped Shoreline Christian.

The Panthers went on a 10-2 run to start the fourth quarter to put the game away.

Senior Deanna Riffe added 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting for White Pass (16-9).

Julia DeKoekkoek tallied a team-high 15 points and Colleen Woods added 12 to lead the Crusaders (21-3).

Liberty couldn't pull closer than seven points in the fourth quarter as Waterville went on to win.

Senior Lauren Daling led the Shockers with 20 hard-earned points in the post, shooting 8 for 12 from the field.

Waterville (21-3) held Liberty (24-3) to 17 percent shooting for the game, allowing 11 points to Shawn Hennessey of the Lancers.

Corina Allen hit a 3-pointer with 2:30 left in the game to open an 11-point lead for Mossyrock, which went on to win.

Allen finished with a game-high 18 points and four 3-pointers. Lexi Belcher added 12 points for the Vikings (21-2), shooting 8 for 12 from the line.

For the Mountain Lions (17-8), Shelby Scott scored 14 points and Korrie Bourn grabbed 10 rebounds.

Led by Chessey Thomas' 15 points, St. George's won a thriller against King's West in the last game.

With 1:30 to go, St. George's led by four and was put on the line when King's West began fouling. Thomas nailed a pair of free throws down the stretch to seal the win for the Dragons (19-10).

St. George's shot 12 for 21 from the line for the game.

Megan Spence had a game-high 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting for the Warriors (18-6) with 11 rebounds.
