Boys: Northwest Chr. 48, Darrington 39

Highlights:
2006 State B boys champion Northwest Christian earned a return trip to the championship game after beating Darrington 48-39 in a semifinal match-up Friday at the Spokane Arena.

Sophomore guard Chase Ramey scored a game-high 14 points and sophomore Matt Zandbergen added 12 points and eight rebounds to lead the Crusaders, who grabbed 21 offensive rebounds.

Free-throw shooting proved to be a big difference. The Crusaders converted on 17 of 24 from the line while the Loggers were just 8 of 15, including 3 for 10 in the second half.

Sophomore Mike Parris tallied nine points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Darrington (15-9).

The Loggers showed signs of life in the second half. The Crusader lead was cut to three after Parris made one of two free throws in the middle of the fourth quarter, but that was as close as they got.

Senior Derek Iranon added 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting for Northwest Christian (28-1), which made just 4 of 21 shots in the second half but converted on 13 of 21 free-throws.

The Crusaders advance to the championship game Saturday where they will meet Wahkiakum at 8 p.m. at the Spokane Arena.

Darrington will play Republic at 3:30 p.m. for third/sixth place.
