The senior post also grabbed seven rebounds. Junior Trent Atkins scored 14 points on 6-for-9 shooting and sophomore Taylor Weist added 10, hitting all four of his field goals, as Morton went 24-46 overall (56.5 percent).
Senior Daniel Westra was 7-for-9 to lead the Hurricanes with 22 points, and Dan VanderKooy added 11 points. However, Mount Vernon Christian shot just 33 percent as a team, going 2-16 (12.5 percent) in the first half and trailed by 19 points.
