Toutle Lake 58, St. John-Endicott 54

Highlights: Toutle Lake created a lot of unnecessary drama in its win over the Eagles for fifth and eighth place.
Three times the Ducks held a 15-point advantage, the last at 42-37 with 1:10 left in the third quarter. But fueled by a 25-point fourth quarter, and Toutle Lake's inability to hit the front end of 1-and-1 free throws, St. John-Endicott cut the margin to 56-54 with 1:08 remaining.
Fortunately Ryan Hoff and Dustin Elam each made foul shots in the final 37 seconds to secure victory.
Hoff led Toutle Lake with 18 points and 14 rebounds. The senior guard totaled 80 points this tournament to join the century club with 118 points in six games. Sophomore Brandon Bartlett added 10 points
The Eagles had more balanced scoring. Junior Phillip Luft had a team-high 17 points. Justin Taylor, also a junior, got a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Senior Brent Leifer had 12 points, four steals and three assists.
This was Toutle Lake's ninth trophy in 18 state appearances. St. John-Endicott collected its 10th trophy in 11 trips to state.
