Highlights: Matt Schroeder scored eight straight points during Wilbur-Creston's 12-0 run in the fourth quarter as the Wildcats went on to eliminate Mount Vernon Christian.
Schroeder, a junior guard, finished with 16 points. Michael Johnson had 16 points as well, capped by a baseline sky hook with 1:31 left. The 6-5 senior also pulled down a season-high 17 rebounds. The 6-5 senior also Shayne Lewis got 15 points and eight boards, and Colton Berg added 11 points.
Senior Daniel Westra paced the Hurricanes with 11 points, plus four steals and two assists. Matthew Hogan and Jeff Schloemer each scored 10 points, the latter grabbing nine boards.
The Wildcats shot 11 for 19 from the field (57.9 percent) in the second half and outrebounded Mount Vernon 39-28.
