Girls results

Curlew 64, Evergreen Lutheran 43

Highlights: The Cougars used a 13-2 run late in the first half to lead by 14 points and went on to beat the Eagles in the tourney's first game Wednesday morning.
Brittany Strandberg led Curlew (23-5) with a game-high 16 points, the senior guard also copping eight steals.
Sophomore post Nichole Miller added 14 points, four rebounds and two assists. Amanda Grumach, also a sophomore, had 13 points, six rebounds and five steals. Still another soph, guard Kady Kirkendall, was the fourth Cougar in double figures with 10 points.
Senior forward Ashley Poetter netted 15 points to pace Evergreen Lutheran (20-5). Sophomore Lauren Oka had 10 points on 3-for-4 shooting from the field and also grabbed seven rebounds. Rachel Hansen contributed eight points and eight boards.
