I love Johnny, I think Evan was wayyyyy overmarked (though he deserved to win), but Johnny came on the ice defeated. He DID NOT even try to win. You could see he gave up. He will NEVER medal at Worlds if he cannot get it together and just go all out, even if he is in 10th place after the SP!! Jeremy Abbot did not give up, he gave his all, and he did not have a realistic chance, at first, of even medaling...

I don't think Johnny Weir gave up before he skates. How could he cry at the K & C area if he had given up just before FP started ? I think he lost his mind-set when he heard Evan's TES score and couldn't focus on only the program. But in such a really difficult situation, I thoguht he performed really great especially last part of footwork. Did you see his 4T ??? If he gave up why did he do quad ??? It was SO beautiful !

But I agree Evan's score was overmarked, especially PCS. But the judges seem to love over-acting, energetic skating whether the art was good or not, expression looked fake or real.

Without quad and without using his old favorite program Carmen , I don't think Evan could beat Johnny. I think Kurt knows that. To beat Johnny Evan needed quad and more passion which Judges love. Beside , he had more trainning time than Johnny this season because he didn't create both new programs. Evan is always re-using his old program . Maybe because he is not so creative and doesn't have natural talent like Johnny Weir.

I think this Nationals happened only because of mind-set.

This time Evan's mind-set was perfect and his situation, being challenger, gave him more advantage. Media was very supportive to him and he could focus on to skate cleanly instead of winning. ( I think that 's the point. ) If Johnny skated first, before Evan, it might have been different result.

Evan's skating looked just over playing especially his arm movement, nothing artistic, and impressive , he landed 4-3 combination by miracle and landed 8 triple jumps ? including the combination.

One good thing I could learn from Evan from this Nationals was that very strong emotional energy and passion can make miracle happen.

But true Champion is still Johnny Weir IMO. I don't think Evan is a better skater than Johnny and can not compare because Evan is not at Johnny's level. I hope Johnny will just focus on his personal best score or Plushenko's personal best score in the Next Nationals and also Worlds.

I think Johnny Weir is arguably the most graceful and lyrical male skater EVER!!!!! He has the physical talent and ability to beat anybody in the world but I would like to see him start focussing more on skating and less on his other interests at this time in his life. He has a small window of opportunity to really excel at skating - the rest can come later. PLEASE Johnny - do what you do best....SKATE!!!!! I don't think Johnny gave up - I think he skated the best he could under the circumstances. I'm thrilled to see him throwing the quad and his LP is beautiful!!!!!

Oh, Johnny is not in the video anymore.
Then I have no reason to visit this site.

He's still on the video. He's just not in the still photo.
