My client had a spacious and beautiful new home, but the complaint about her living room revealed she wasn’t happy with the some of her home’s aesthetics or usefulness.

Our job was to make an attractive living room that she could feel proud to share with guests.

BEFORE

• The green rug fit the room well and was in good shape, but my client felt the colors didn’t match her modern furniture. She also thought the piano didn’t blend with the rest of the room.

• The room was not set up for the comfort of guests.

• This room didn’t have much personality and needed some finishing touches.

AFTER

• I brought in a smaller, modern, burgundy rug I noticed in the front entry. The rug had a more harmonious style, and the warmer tone also made the piano blend in with the decor.

• By moving the couch and companion chair closer together the room instantly became more intimate.

• Time to accessorize. The furniture looked much happier with pillows that picked up on the rug color, and the throw also minimized the quantity of gray in the room. A pair of vases and books scrounged from other rooms helped add just enough warmth.
