Waging war against drug laws

America ended Prohibition 75 years ago this week. The ban on the sale of alcohol unleashed a crime wave, as gangsters fought over the illicit booze trade. It sure didn't stop drinking. People turned to speakeasies and bathtub gin for their daily cocktail.

Big Three can turn to Big Oil
Who has the most to gain from the Big Three automakers' bailout? That's easy. The oil companies. They have recorded record profits. Exxon alone posted billions in profit. Let the oil companies bail out the automakers. They could loan the automakers all the money they need and leave the government alone. Most of Congress (Senate and House) do business with the oil companies anyway. This way the auto companies have a vested interest to build better cars for the American people.
