Funeral for Lois E. (Jewell) Salamata, 93, was Tuesday at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, with burial at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mrs. Salamata, who died Friday, was born on a homestead near Belfield, N.D. She had been a resident of Spokane since 1950.
She graduated from Belfield High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson State College in Dickinson, N.D., and did graduate work at Northern Montana College in Havre.
She married George Salamata in 1941 and they moved around the United States, wherever her husband was stationed. She was a teacher and also taught three years in Pusan, Korea.
Mrs. Salamata had been a member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Spokane since 1964 and was a deacon and elder. She had been a member of Order of the Eastern Star since 1954.
Her husband died in 1977.
Survivors include one sister, Gayle (Jewell) Wells of King City, Ore.; and two brothers, Marvin and Lyle Jewell both of Spokane.
Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Presbyterian Church or the Shriners Hospital for Children.
