Story archives

Looking for a story from a back issue of The Spokesman-Review?

If you can't find the information you're seeking -- and that is possible because we don't have every story from The Spokesman-Review newspaper online -- you have several options:

  • The Spokesman-Review's archives: The electronic archives of The Spokesman-Review, which contain the full, verified text of every story written by our staff writers that ran in every edition of the paper since July 1, 1994. Searching is free; downloading the full text of an article costs $2.95.
  • Contact our research department. They have access to a complete arsenal of research tools, including the above-mentioned archives, paper "clip files" that are the actual stories, dating back to the 1920s, and microfilm records dating back to 1881 for the former Spokane Chronicle and dating back to 1883 for The Spokesman-Review and its predecessors.
