Disincorporation meeting Thursday

Citizens for Disincorporation will hold a meeting on Thursday about its petition drive to dissolve the city of Spokane Valley.

Anyone interested in working on the drive is invited to attend. Large yard signs will be distributed. The group must collect signatures from half of the registered voters in Spokane Valley, or about 21,000 people, to put the measure on the ballot for a vote.

Organizer Sally Jackson said the collection has been going well and that the group will start count
ing signatures in August.

The meeting begins at 6:45 p.m. in the North Pines Middle School Library.
