    Cover letter

    Will focus on solutions
Before now, I'd only been on the voting side of the ballot, like most of you. Being a candidate had never really occurred to me. What caused me to decide was twofold.

First, I had a selfish reason. From the minute the incorporation was placed on the ballot, I had a concern this could possibly mean higher property taxes and new sales taxes for people living here. More than that, it seemed it could very likely be a probability. As a senior citizen, that's a pretty awesome realization. I know there are lots of people in the Valley in the same situation as I; not only senior citizens and people on fixed incomes but working families struggling to meet budgets. We all need an advocate!

Secondly, I was somewhat altruistic in making this decision. I have been semi-retired since 1998 and have more time to dedicate to public service than ever before. It seemed the right time to take my turn in doing something for the community.

It's my belief that my past 17 years of work experience as a computer programmer and project leader lends itself to this position. I've worked with large teams of people to accomplish specific goals in limited time frames. Focusing on solutions is how I was trained for that.

I'm asking for your support in this election and intend to work very hard for you!
