Davenport memory

Submitted by:
Bonnie and Mortimer Sullivan

My husband and I have very fond memories of the Davenport Hotel. We were married in the Marie

Antoinette Room on November 10, 1972, at the 197th anniversary Marine Corps Ball. At the time my husband was Sgt. Maj.

It was the first time two such events were held together anywhere.

We marched through the arch of swords, and I got to cut the cake during the cake cutting ceremony.

The dinner and dancing was our reception, for the wedding. Such a gala event -- We can hardly wait for the Beautiful Davenport to open. We have missed it!
