Davenport memory

Submitted by:
Betty Scheel

I have a framed receipt of our stay at the Davenport on the night of December 25, 1942 which was our wedding night. The receipt also shows we paid $4.00 for that night. I, also, have a post card of the Davenport in the same frame. I would say the card was printed

earlier and seems to be a black and white sketch.

When my husband was stationed in Moscow for radio school he would hitch hike up to Spokane and we would stay at the Davenport for the weekend. I would take a bus in from Coeur d'Alene and meet him

there. It was always a special weekend.

When I was much younger my mother would sometimes take me into Spokane and we would end up having a Pettyfour at the counter.

    Wonderful memories of the Davenport.
