Previous chats took place in the Gay.com chatroom, where West posted under the screen name therightbi-guy. Starting on Feb. 26, 2005, the chats took place through AOL Instant Messenger, and West changed his screen name to jmselton, an apparent reference to his name, James Elton West. The screen name Moto-Brock was assumed by a forensic computer consultant working for The Spokesman-Review, posing as a teenager online. jmselton: they couldn't hang with rock stars when they were kids because they were nerds but now that they have more money than god the stars all want to be with them.
jmselton: i do lots of things in lots of fields.

motobrock34: i thought maybe tech stuff since you know those guys
motobrock34: but man, like i said, i want your job someday!

jmselton: what are you going to do when you grow up?
motobrock34: you know it really makes me feel a little better about my future if you have been so successful and are gay

motobrock34: i sometimes worry about that
motobrock34: that if people find out it will effect things i want to do
jmselton: remember i'm very closeted.
jmselton: no one knows i like guys
jmselton: except the few guys i've been with and highly trusted.
motobrock34: yeah i guess thats what i mean though you have kept it to yourself and still made it pretty big
motobrock34: so there's hope
jmselton: but there are good out role models out there.
jmselton: ones that have done ok
motobrock34: i think i'd like medicine
jmselton: it's just that the openly gay guys are a little over the top for me.
jmselton: i don't really like the in your face attitude some guys have
jmselton: and the massive political agenda either.
jmselton: i say live and let live.
jmselton: let everyone find their way.
motobrock34: me either, i'd rather just you know, keep it private and let others be themselves too

jmselton: it does make it harder to date that way.
motobrock34: really gay guys kind of turn me off
jmselton: and there may be a time when you might feel comfortable
jmselton: but i agree with you.
jmselton: most gay guys turn me off too

motobrock34: some of the freestyle guys go to far with the tats and stuff but most of the guys whho ride pro for the factories and stuff aare just good clean cut athletes

motobrock34: I am a little nervous about registering for the draft and Iraq....not that I wouldn't go but if it gets bad and they start the draft again that could really fuck up my plans
motobrock34: alot of dudes at school are thinking about that
jmselton: trust me. they aren't going to start the draft again.
motobrock34: graduating this year and being 18 you know
motobrock34: it would screw up my plans big time
jmselton: and what are your big time plans?
motobrock34: but you know, you gotta do what you gotta do
motobrock34: well just going to school next year
motobrock34: starting college
motobrock34: maybe at Pullman but UW has a good permed program
jmselton: actually so does wsu.
motobrock34: pre-med
jmselton: uw has some of its first year med school students start at pullman
motobrock34: I heard that
jmselton: i have friends that have done it.
motobrock34: no kidding?
jmselton: no kidding
motobrock34: r they in med school now
jmselton: and i'm guessing most of your high school friends will be going to pullman
motobrock34: or docs
jmselton: docs

jmselton: i helped out a friends son get into uw law a few years ago.
jmselton: and i couldn't even get in there myself.

jmselton: almost met Cuba Gooding Jr. tonight at the Davenport. My friend called about 10 minutes after I left and said that Cuba came in with some of his people.
jmselton: maybe but i'd have to know a lot more about you.
jmselton: do your pre-med first and lets see how you do.
jmselton: what kind of grades are you pulling down?
motobrock34: yeah, i gotta get out of farris first!!!

motobrock34: not real well
motobrock34: but he has a goood rep

motobrock34: well ok, its my parents truck but i use it and its pretty much mine I guess

jmselton: we need to get to know each other so i can borrow it sometime........... with you of course. i need to get some peg board for my garage and need to haul a load to the dump.

motobrock34: well, yeah I think I'd like to meet u we seem to chat well like we have things in common but I'd be a nervous wreck

jmselton: never travel a long distance (like cross country)

motobrock34: my one friend lives up high above me and his house is freeking unbeievable
motobrock34: his dad is a heart surgeon

jmselton: so medicine is the thing
motobrock34: but that's not why I wanna be a doc

motobrock34: I kind of want to do a job that I feel helps people
jmselton: that is the right reason.
jmselton: do what you love and the money will follow.
motobrock34: I know everyday you aren't going to be able to help everyone and all that, but more that that's what you go to work for, to help people

motobrock34: and it pays good too so that's not bad
motobrock34: and I've always liked science
motobrock34: so it just seems like a good fit

jmselton: ok then join the army or navy.
motobrock34: I'd have to borrow it

jmselton: apply for an ROTC Scholarship to college and then apply for med school and have the army or navy pay for it.
jmselton: navy is probably best bet.
motobrock34: but I heard that if something happens and you can't finish that they own your ass for years
jmselton: or even air force. many of the docs in spokane came here via fairchild or the air force.
jmselton: pretty rare.
motobrock34: I thought about doing that, it would be easier on my parents
motobrock34: they have some money but not a lot
jmselton: i was ROTC
motobrock34: really/

jmselton: but then I dropped out of school
jmselton: and joined the army instead.

jmselton: got str8 A's first semester of my senior year just to prove that i could and then slacked off.

motobrock34: it's hard to do when I'm doing sports but this is a good time for me because football is over and I'm not really riding much yet...although this freeking weather is changing that fast

motobrock34: sometimes but we got a good gym at school so there isn't much need, i'll go with my mom sometimes to keep her company

motobrock34: she likes me to go with her because she doesn't know how to use alot of the machines and stuff so i sort of help her out
