   • NEWSSTAND E-PAPER
   • ONLINE SUBSCRIPTIONS
   • PRINT SUBSCRIPTIONS
   • PRIVACY
   • REGISTRATION

Q. When I try to login on SpokesmanReview.com, my information disappears and I get the login screen again. What's going on?

A. Access to SpokesmanReview.com requires that cookies are enabled. You may have disabled cookies on your computer or you may have your security settings set very high.

Q. Why doesn’t my Email Address and Password work for the archives?

A. You can view this month's and the previous month's news articles FREE by logging on to SpokesmanReview.com. However, news stories that were published more than 60 days ago require access to our PAID archives, which is provided by NewsLibrary.com. To access our paid archives, you will need to register for an account with NewsLibrary.com using a different login.

Q. I’ve registered on SpokesmanReview.com before, but now my login doesn’t work. What happened?

A. If you registered before September 16, 2004, you will need to re-register. Click here to re-register.

Q. How can I have my password resent to me?

A. We do not have access to your password. To have your password resent to you:

  1. Go to SpokesmanReview.com

  2. Click the ONLINE LOGIN link near the bottom of the navigation bar.

  3. Enter your Email Address and click the "FORGOT PASSWORD?" link.

Your password will be sent directly to your email address.

NEWSSTAND E-PAPER

Q. Yesterday I subscribed to the newspaper online. Today I logged in and could read the articles with no problem. But how do I download the complete newspaper to my hard drive so I can see all the ads, too? When I click on the link “Read today's e-paper,” I only get an advertisement on the advantages of reading the newspaper online.

A. As an active Online subscriber to SpokesmanReview.com or Print subscriber of The Spokesman-Review, you have complete access to all of our online content. However, to receive the newspaper in a PDF file that can be downloaded, viewed and printed, you must subscribe to our e-paper (electronic paper) through Newsstand.com. Newsstand is a separate service with separate fees that sends you a PDF file of the newspaper every morning. Newsstand subscriptions are maintained by Newsstand.com.

ONLINE SUBSCRIPTIONS

Q. Can other family members use my ONLINE ACCOUNT to view daily news stories or will we need a separate account for each family member?

A. You may share your online account login information with other family members if you choose; however, the person who opens the online account will be liable for others who use the account. Children are welcome on our site, too; however, the person who actually registers for an online account must be 13 years of age or older.

Q. How can I change my mailing address, password, credit card information, email address, etc.?

A. To update information in your Online Profile:

  1. Go to SpokesmanReview.com

  2. Click the ONLINE PROFILE link near the bottom of the navigation bar.

  3. If you are not already logged in, enter your Email Address and Password to LOGIN and access your Profile.

  4. Make changes to your profile, and click the UPDATE MY ACCOUNT button near the bottom of the page to save those changes.

Q. I never received my monthly receipt. How can I get one?

A. Each month an email confirmation is sent directly to the registered email address on your account. Occasionally these emails may be blocked, but you should be able to find it in your spam/junk mail folder. If you cannot find your confirmation email, you can look up your charge history by logging into your Online Profile and selecting VIEW CHARGE HISTORY. This will show you a record of all the charges to your credit card, and the pages can be printed for your records.

If you still can’t find what you need, call our Customer Service Department at 800-338-8801 and we will be happy to email you a manual receipt.

Q. I would like to unsubscribe. How do I do that?

A. Unsubscribing is a self-service function. To unsubscribe:

  1. Go to SpokesmanReview.com

  2. Click the CUSTOMER SERVICE link in the top left-hand corner of the navigation bar.

  3. Scroll to the right along the navigation bar to SUBSCRIPTIONS, down to ONLINE REGISTRATION, and then click on UNSUBSCRIBE.

  4. You will be prompted to login. LOGIN using your Email Address and Password.

  5. Click the UNSUBSCRIBE link.

Please Note: You will still have access to your Online account for any days remaining in the month for which you have previously paid.

Q. I signed up to view an article once, but didn’t want an Online account. Please delete my account and send me a refund. I did not authorize my credit card to be charged. Please process my refund immediately.

A. Because you are registered for an Online account, you must unsubscribe yourself -- see "I would like to unsubscribe" for steps on how to do this.

Please note that we do not offer refunds for Online subscriptions. Our Service Agreement (Paragraph 7, FEES AND PAYMENTS) clearly states that your credit card will automatically be charged each month until you unsubscribe.

PRINT SUBSCRIPTIONS

Q. If I currently have a home-delivery print subscription to The Spokesman-Review newspaper, can I access the daily news stories online?

A. Yes. With a current newspaper subscription, you may access daily news stories online for no additional charge. The only requirement is that you REGISTER on the website as a CURRENT PRINT SUBSCRIBER so that we can verify your print account information. To REGISTER, click here.

Q. What's the difference between a PRINT SUBSCRIPTION and an ONLINE ACCOUNT?

A. PRINT subscribers pay for and receive The Spokesman-Review newspaper at their home. They also receive full access to all content on SpokesmanReview.com (except archived stories). If you already have a PRINT SUBSCRIPTION, all you need to do is REGISTER so we can verify your account information. Click here for the online registration form.

ONLINE customers pay a monthly fee and have 24/7 access to all content on SpokesmanReview.com (except archived stories). If you register for an ONLINE ACCOUNT only, this does not start a home-delivery print subscription for you as well. To sign up for an ONLINE ACCOUNT, click here and complete the online registration form.

If you are not currently a PRINT subscriber but would like to order home delivery of The Spokesman-Review, click here.

Q. What are your current rates for a PRINT SUBSCRIPTION and an ONLINE ACCOUNT?

A. For current PRINT SUBSCRIPTION rates, click here. To view current ONLINE ACCOUNT fees, click here. To read our Online SERVICE AGREEMENT, click here.

Q. Are the photos in the newspaper part of the Archives?

A. Photos that accompanied a story directly are usually in the online archives. Photos that were not associated directly with articles are not typically online, but can be ordered and paid for by calling our Photo Reprint Line at 509-459-5146. You can also purchase prints of photos seen in The Spokesman-Review online at Editorial Photo Prints.

Q. I am going to be out of town for quite some time. Can I read the newspaper online?

A. Yes, print subscribers have full access to SpokesmanReview.com once they have REGISTERED for an online account. (To register for an online account, click here.) You will continue to have online access even if your print account is temporarily stopped while you are on vacation.

You can temporarily stop and restart your paper by going to our Customer Service web page and selecting the VACATION STOP link under Subscriptions or by calling our Customer Service Department at 800-338-8801. Newspapers from Vacation Stops can be donated to area classrooms under our Newspaper In Education program.

Q. I have a home delivery PRINT SUBSCRIPTION. I went to SpokesmanReview.com and filled out the Online Registration form, but it didn’t recognize me as a current newspaper subscriber so I only got temporary online access. What's wrong?

A. Most likely the address you entered in the Online Registration form is not exactly the same as how we have it in our database for print subscriptions. Our Customer Service representatives check daily for mismatched information and make the necessary corrections. You should have permanent online access immediately after the corrections are made, which is usually within 24 to 48 hours.

Q. I am a paid subscriber to The Spokesman-Review newspaper. I would like to be able to retrieve archived articles online at SpokesmanReview.com. How do I do that?

A. You are offered a FREE online subscription with a Print subscription, but you still must REGISTER online in order to access SpokesmanReview.com. Once registered, this online subscription gives you access to any article that is less than 60 days old. To retrieve older articles that have been archived, go to the SpokesmanReview.com Home page and scroll down the page until you reach the ARCHIVES link in the navigation bar. You can search for all our archived articles here, but you will have to pay a fee of $2.95 per article to download articles published more than 60 days ago.

Q. I can’t login to SpokesmanReview.com even though my Print newspaper subscription is paid up. What's wrong?

A. To be recognized as a Print subscriber for a FREE online account, you must first REGISTER your account online. To register for an online account:

  1. Go to SpokesmanReview.com

  2. Click the ONLINE LOGIN link located near the bottom of the navigation bar.

  3. Select the NEW USER link to register for an online account.

  4. Fill out the Registration form and click the REGISTER MY ACCOUNT button at the bottom of the page.

PRIVACY

Q. Will my privacy be protected once I register online?

A. Absolutely. All registration pages are secure, including the Login page. To read our Privacy Policy, go to www.spokesmanreview.com/help/privacy.asp.

Q. Will registering on the site mean that my name goes on a mailing list?

A. Only if you grant us permission to put it on a specific list.

REGISTRATION

Q. I get a message saying that the system is unable to validate my email address? What do I do?

A. It appears that you have not successfully registered your account with SpokesmanReview.com. You will need to complete the Online registration process before you will be able to have full access. Click here to register.

Q. I typed in all of my information correctly, but the system says that there are errors. What’s going on?

A. Our system does not accept punctuation of any kind. Be sure to remove all punctuation from your information and try again. You should also remove information that is not required, such as post direction.

If you are experiencing difficulties REGISTERING for an online account, click here to submit a problem report. You will receive a response within 3 business days.

Q. Why does SpokesmanReview.com require users to register for an online account in order to access news stories?

A. The decision to offer online accounts to SpokesmanReview.com results from the recognition that all of our online and print readers have the same access to the news and information that we provide and are both considered customers of The Spokesman-Review.

Registering for an online account gives our customers full access to all editorial content on our website that appeared in the print edition. However, much of the content and many of the features at SpokesmanReview.com are FREE to all readers.

Q. Can you explain how you can ethically ask for the Card Security Code (CSC) on the back of our credit cards?

A. The Card Security Code is an additional security precaution designed to help prevent fraud. By verifying the CSC, we know the person entering the credit card number is in possession of the card. This helps to ensure that the card number is not part of a stolen account number scheme. In addition, the CSC validates that the card is legitimate. All valid credit cards are required to have the code, and missing or invalid codes are an indication of potential fraud.

Q. I have forwarded several articles to my friends and they are not able to read them. Why not?

A. Although our website allows article links to be e-mailed to friends, anyone clicking on the link must have a subscription account to SpokesmanReview.com before they will be allowed to view and read the complete article. All readers must register for our website.
