About this race: Republican Marge Chadderdon is hoping for a third term to continue her efforts to improve financial literacy for children and adults. She is an advocate for adult education and workforce training opportunities. Democrat Tamara Lee Poelstra lacks political experience, but says her love for community service began at age 7 picking up garbage as a Brownie. She says she wants education to be a priority in the Legislature -- not just the biggest part of the budget. She also wants all tax exemptions re-evaluated and to make sure “everyone pays their fair share.”
