3rd Legislative District, senate

About this race: This seat has been held for 16 years by Lisa Brown, the current Senate president. If results from the primary are any indication, the race is Brown's to lose. She captured 76 percent of the ballots cast. Her opponent, John Moyna, the night janitor at Dick's Hamburgers, trailed substantially but both advance to the general election because just two candidates filed. Still, she has raised more than $200,000 for her campaign. Moyna has agreed to collect no more than $5,400.
