We must rely on the Commander In Chief and the military on the ground to determine this answer - as they have the best information for doing so. That said, ensuring the Iraqis take control of their future as soon as possible would be my priority.

It's vital that the United States upgrade its intelligence capabilities so we know sooner the plans of those who want to harm our nation. We need to put more resources into training a new Iraqi military and give them the ability to take more responsibility for their own defense. This will reduce American casualties in Iraq and allow us to bring more of our soldiers home faster.

I support the president’s decision to go into Iraq. The world is already seeing the benefits of President Bush’s leadership. As a direct result of our success in Iraq, Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi has decided to abandon his nuclear ambitions and turn his country’s weapons of mass destruction program over to be monitored by the international community. In Congress, I will work to ensure that our troops our provided with the resources they need to get the job done as soon as possible.
