Party: Democrat

Personal: Married to John, three adult children, one grandchild

Education: Graduated from high school in Spokane. WSU BA and MA Teaching mathematics

Professional: Math Teacher started in Seattle 8 years at Madison Junior High 1962. Taught math at WSU and at Moscow High School, retired in 2000. Will teach again math for elementary teachers at UI.

Political: Chair of Latah Co. Democrats for six years Then elected to Idaho Legislature in 1998 Elected again in 2002. Last summer attended all meetings for committee to review sales tax issues.

Key issues: Education is way up there along with children's issues. "Naturally, the University of Idaho is extremely important to me." Wants to find a fair way to raise an adequate amount of funding for education. Health care is also important - that it's accessible.

Quote: "It's an energetic campaign. I knock on doors and talk to voters almost daily. One of the big satisfactions for me is to be able to help individuals solve particular problems."

Favorite book: To Kill a Mockingbird.

First priority if elected: Tie- 1. is to restore the UI to its prominence and 2. to restore the power of the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.
