Education: Bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering from Ohio State University, master's degree in management science from the University of Dayton and a certificate in fine arts from Spokane Falls Community College.

Professional: Retired as a major after 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. Has since worked as a management and land-use consultant and in computer repair and maintenance as well as pottery work.

Political: Hargreaves as served on the Spokane County Planning Commission and on the Board of Supervisors for the Spokane County Conservation District.

Key issues: "My top issues are to vitalize the economy, protect the natural environment and reubild the county into a first-class friendly efficient governemnt. All of this comes under the more general priority of building the community."
