Education: Graduated from Racine County School of Agriculture and Domestic Science in 1940. Attended University of Idaho but never graduated because he joined the Illinois National Guard.

Professional: Economic development consultant to government and industry in developing countries. (Russia, Mongolia, Ukraine, Panama, etc.) Former owner/publisher of Post Falls Tribune. Spent 26 years working as advertising manager and marketing director for international pharmaceutical manufactures Schering-Plough and Syntex. Advertising and public relations writer for Skill Corp. Photographer/reporter for Hearst Newspapers wire service. Former Panhandle Area Council chairman, Jobs Plus founding member and former director, former director of the Coeur d'Alene Tribe Development Corp.

Political: Post Falls mayor: 1980-1983. Kootenai County commissioner: 1983-1991, including five years as chairman.

Key issues: Henderson said the constituents of Dist. 5 have told him the high and growing rate of property taxes is the No. 1 issue. Other issues include guarding against unfunded mandates, high cost of prescription drugs and creating more good paying jobs that have benefits. Also wants to identify economic opportunities for Idaho industries and employers and create a good economic and business environment.
