Tire iron beating suspect sought
Spokane County Sheriff’s detectives are looking for an 18-year-old man accused of beating a Rockford man Saturday into unconsciousness with a tire iron. The suspect, Harley D. McDonald, is 5 foot 8, weighs 150 pounds and has blue eyes and blond hair. According to a Sheriff’s Office press release, McDonald and several other people went to a house on the 17600 block of East Drumheller Road on Saturday afternoon in a stolen car. When the resident there told McDonald to leave, an argument ensued. McDonald first threatened the victim with a fire poker and then came back later and hit him from behind with the tire iron, causing serious facial, head and chest injuries. Detectives found the tire iron in nearby trees and later found the stolen car. Anyone with information about McDonald or a woman named “Missy” who was with him at the time of the attack is asked to call 242-TIPS or 911.
