What sounded like a little story of an animal with a disability, quickly evolved into a tale of great devotion and love. Loois was adopted as a puppy by Craig Mosher and his ex-wife Maria after she saw the severely injured animal on television. The dog had been used as bait for fighting dogs. Loois recovered from the injuries, but in 2004 underwent back surgery and suffered damage to his spinal cord. He lost use of his hind legs.
“Who is running who?” I asked Mosher as he dashed down a rural street with Loois on a rainy Saturday morning in Suncrest, Wash. The 100-pound pit bull is so full of energy, Mosher can hardly keep up with the dog. But keep up he must; Loois relies on his master to provide support for his rear legs.
Mosher’s life revolves around the care of his best friend and he gladly lives up to the commitment.

I hope you'll enter that one in the NPPA multimedia contest ... I think you've got my vote.
I know these two, Loois and Craig.
Great dog and person

This is beautiful. Just goes to show you, that remarkable bond between man and animal.
This story really warmed my heart. I am a Pit Bull lover, and it's great to see something positive like this! If only all Pitties could be as lucky as this one...
Loois and his dad are so blessed to have each other!! Mosher is doing a wonderful job! They are so special--thank you for this great story! I am blessed to know them both...
What a bond!
This was one of the most beautiful things I have seen.
Thank you for touching my heart.
oh dan. this is just a beautiful story and so nicely done. what a wonderful relationship and love they share.
I can speak from first-hand experience that Mosher's commitment is unparalleled. I am blessed to be able to call him my dad. And Loois is an extraordinary animal that had more courage than most people. I love them both.
Such a heart warming story. You can see the love for each other. God bless them both
God has truly blessed my brother Craig with this wonderful dog, and he
in turn has returned the bessing by being the best "Dad" Looie could ever have. I am very proud of you both.
Craig and Looie are an excellent example of love between a dog and his Human "owner". I know them both and I can say, I have never seen a person give so much for a handicapped Dog. They are a team of good Souls.
Wow! Loois is so lucky to have you because he has so much love. He is so beautiful dog and sooo healthy!! Looks so happy! We are thinking of other dogs like that.. Wow!
We are blessed to have this wonderful man as our Uncle. His devotion to this precious dog is incredible, but we would expect no less from him. He is as devoted and loving to his family as he is to sweet Looie. We love you Uncle Mosher!!! XOXOXOXO
You can actually feel the love come bouncing of the screen as you watch loois and Mosher go through their daily routine. The love Loois has for Mosher and vice versa is wonderful to watch. Thank you for sharing.

I am so happy to see a positive story about Pit Bulls! It just goes to show that any dog can love and behave if given the chance! I wish you both the best!
What a sweet, sweet story! Thank you for sharing this with us, and this man and his tender heart should go into the doggy hall of fame....I too have dealt with a paralyzed dog and know it IS a difficult thing to handle, no matter how much you love your friend. Bless you, Craig!!
This man is my uncle, and I think he is the most sincere and geniune man that walks this earth. Louis has and always will be an extremely special dog. He was just as spirited when his back legs worked. I have had the opportunity to take him on a walk, and he is super strong! I love them both.
Most people would not do what Mosher does with Looie. I am not suprised with Mosher's committed dedication and love towards Looie.
What a wonderful team both of you make! It is refreshing to see a postive story about this breed. I think we fail to realize that bad owners make bad dogs. It isnt the dogs. God bless both of you!!

This is one of the most touching stories I have ever heard. What a fantastic relationship the two of them share. I have owned several pitbulls, and am always standing up for them. This story helps show what fantastic dogs they are. This story brought some tears to my eyes! I think Mosher is such a fantastic and dedicated man to his lovely little Looie. Thanks for helping to open up peoples eyes.
Thank you so much for sharing this story. I had my husband come in and watch it too and he was as deeply touched as I was. This is the very best of human and canine spirit.
I really love American Pitbull terriers and "pibble" type dogs -- they are stable, smart and loving dogs when not tortured into something else. This is a magnificent testimony to their heart.
It's also very special that Craig's human relatives appreciate what a special man he is. Blessings and good health to the both of them
If the day ever comes when Craig is physically unable to carry half of Loois's weight, I hope he will try a K-9 Kart. http://www.k9carts.com/ Satisfied users include Belle, our chi/dox mix, the world famous Wheelie Willie, ( http://www.wheelywilly.com/ ) as well as Coral, aka "Diva Dog" ( http://www.divadogthemovie.com/ ).

(Also a pibble owner)
Wow, that is amazing and heart warming.
Our brother, Craig truly is a special person. We have known Looie since he was a pup and he's always been a gentle, loving and loyal companion to Craig. We know the special bond created by man and his best friend when the love is so strong you can see it in the dog's eyes. We also have a special needs pitbull who was also a bait dog before we rescued her. They are wonderful family members when treated with love, discipline and affection. We love you and Looie more than you can ever know. You will never see a mean pitbull puppy.

To all of you wonderful people and your kind and thoughtful comments, Looie and I thank you. And remember "There not just dogs" they are your family and your pack. God bless all of you

Looie's Dad
Craig, Wonderful story. Refreshing to see good people doing good things. Great role model for how humans should treat their pets and other humans.
I am sure Kona (our Boxer) would love to play with Looie.
Love from your East Coast Family!
Mark, Becky, Casey and Kona
Dude, that is really nice of you to take care of that special dog. Hey, just wondered, does the dog get Filet Mignon for dinner, glass of wine? ....hahahha...I commend you on your loyalty and heart taking care of that great looking dog. Talk to you later. Rob says "HI"...
There are very few people like this in the world...Maybe we can all take a lesson out of this book of caring.
