Spokane River Dialogues is a yearlong series that profiles people that are passionate about the Spokane River.
This 11th episode features Spokane City Councilwoman Mary Verner who is also Executive Director for the Upper Columbia United Tribes. Wearing two hats, Verner works tirelessly on water quality and habitat issues related to the Spokane River.
When Verner has time, she likes to take a stroll along the Spokane River banks near the Sandifur Bridge. "When we're here by the river, we're reminded that we're just one speck, that we're a molecule in the whole big scheme of things--and so I'm able to lose my self-importance when I'm at the river and realize that the river is constantly flowing and so are our lives. It helps me to put everything into perspective," said Verner"

Colin,
I liked the clarity and honesty of this video blog. Having grown up in Spokane, but being away for many years, it is encouraging to see the steps being taken to re-nourish the river for the salmon and the creatures that sustain themselves from the rivers bounty...Great work!
