It’s only a hill. But when Doomsday Hill looms in the middle of the Bloomsday run, it can be a daunting climb for Bloomies who are already running low on fuel. Here’s a look at Doomsday on Bloomsday, including the silly folks who put up the Premera Blue Cross water station at the top of the hill.
As a photographer assigned there, I climb the hill two or three times on Bloomsday and have come to respect the competitive drive of the wheelchair and running competitors who charge the hill with everything they’ve got.
