Another 'Piranha' fan

Question: Once again I opened your fine paper, only to find "Piranha Club" missing. I am a 77-year-old senior citizen, and a subscriber to your paper for many years. I would look forward eargerly to the Sunday edition and have a good laugh from the antics of the "Piranha Club," only to see it replaced by "Garfield," aargh! Who is the space cadet who made that decision? -- Norm Tyndall

Answer: As said in a previous answer, we dropped "Piranha Club" to make way for "Opus." While "Piranha Club" has its fans, it was, perhaps, our least-read strip. -- Steve Smith, editor

About Steve Smith

Steve Smith has been editor of The Spokesman-Review since July 2002. Before coming to Spokane, he served as editor of The Statesman-Journal in Salem, Ore., and The Gazette in Colorado Springs, Colo. Smith is married to Alexa Conway Smith, an independent computer consultant and has two children by a previous marriage, Sam, who is 17 years old, and Alissa, who is 13.

Gary Graham is managing editor of The Spokesman-Review. He recently moved to Spokane from Binghamton, N.Y., where he had been managing editor of the Press & Sun-Bulletin in for six years.
