Biography: Doug Floyd

Doug Floyd is editorial page editor for The Spokesman-Review. He has been a reporter and editor for the S-R and its former sister publication, the Spokane Daily Chronicle, since 1969.

Floyd is a native of Klamath Falls, Ore., and a 1966 graduate of the University of Oregon School of Journalism. After receiving his degree, he served three years in the U.S. Army before beginning his newspaper career in Spokane.

He covered medicine, courts, county and state government and politics for the afternoon Chronicle, plus stints as assistant regional editor and editorial page editor. At the Spokesman-Review, he has been editorial page editor, interactive editor and ombudsman. He is a member of the National Conference of Editorial Writers and serves on the organization's ethics committee.
