This was already announced on 12/4 as part of management's reorganization document, but in case you missed it:
Due to tighter budget and staffing changes, S-R will lose the following columns: Bert Caldwell, Pia K. Hansen, Jim Kershner, Jim Camden, Shawn Vestal's "The Falls." All five will switch to Staff Writer and write stories. Past work will still available for online subcribers under Archives. The document lists no changes to Doug Clark.

So, Doug Clark will still not be funny?
Too bad about this. These were all good columnists. I will especially miss kershner and caldwell who always provided a unique and interesting view on the news.
We need the Caldwell column back.
