- Median
age of 44; three out of ten (31%) are under
the age of 35.
- Well
educated; two-thirds (66%) have attended college,
and three of ten (31%) are college graduates.
- Median
household income among adults of $37,900;
three of ten adults (31%) live in a househld where the annual
income is $50,000 or more.
- Employed
adults. Almost two-thirds (64%) are employed,
with 55 percent working full-time and 9 percent employed
part-time. over half of all women (56%) are employed; more
than four of ten (44%) are employed full-time.
- Twice
as many hold white collar jobs (42%) as have service/blue
collar jobs (20%). Two of ten (21%) are retired;
the rest are military personnel, homemakers or others not
in the labor force.
- Mostly
married; six of ten (59%) are currently married.
The rest are evenly divided between those previously married
(widowed, divorced or separated) and singles who have never
married. almost four of ten adults (37%) have children under
the age of 18 living at home.
- Home
owners; about three-fourths of adults (73%)
own their homes, and almost eight of ten (77%) live in single
family houses.
